Triund (Dharamshala HP)

                      TRIUND HILL STATION Triund is a large land of green grass. One can see the mighty Dhauladhar range. The ridge elevation is between 2,810 and 2,875 metres. It is a one-day trek approx. 10 kilometres (one way) from Mcleod Ganj bus stand and under 6 kilometres (one way) from Galu temple near Dharamkot. The trail is rocky and cut in steps at some places. From Galu devi temple there is an unambiguous byway which goes through a beautiful forest of oak and devdar trees. The road transport of the near is a Pathankot to Gaggal then to Dharamsala and New Delhi to the Chandigarh and then to Kangra and finally Dharamsala. Kareri Lake [Paradise for Hikers]

KARERI LAKE  Kareri Lake  is a high altitude, shallow, fresh water lake south of the  Dhauladhar  range approximately 9 km North West of  Dharamshala  in  Kangra district ,  Himachal Pradesh . Its surface is 2934 metres above the  sea level . Snow melting from the Dhauladhar range serves as the source of the lake and a stream, Nyund is the outflow. Since the source is fresh melting snow and the lake is shallow, water visibility is very high and in most places, the lake bed can be seen. Kareri lake is best known for being a trekking destination in the  Dhauladhars . The lake remains frozen from early December to March–April. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Shakti on a hilltop overlooking the lake..
